- Nie Huaisang in general, with all his contrasts and his secrets. The way he's so different from his brother, and yet his love for him is what drives the whole present-day plot. His friendship with Wei Wuxian as a teenager and how much more complicated things must be for them in the present.
- Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning's general loyalty kink deal, platonic or romantic, and also how dangerous they truly are.

- Clara's character arc, how she starts out travelling casually and then wants to keep both her life with the Doctor and her normal life, and the way she becomes more ruthless to the point that even the Doctor himself gets weirded out. Also the whole thing with their potentially universe-destroying friendship, of course!
- Bill gets so many tropes I love (having her memories almost rewritten! waiting for years! becoming non-human!) and I just adore her sense of wonder and her curiosity. She's a great match for this era of Twelve who's semi-stuck watching Missy in a box.

- Everything I said about Nie Huaisang, Nie Mingjue and Wei Wuxian in the MDZS section also applies here, and I think it's interesting how The Untamed expands both those relationships and focuses a bit more on Nie Huaisang's happier, kinder side.
- Wei Wuxian's relationship with the Wen siblings and their time together in the Burial Mounds.
- How Mianmian is living her best life with her family away from all the drama of the great Sects.
